Our Story

The nonpartisan Campus Area Neighborhood Association started in June 2020, filling a vacuum of neighborhood associations that did not advocate for students and other residents in the way they often do, at the level of the city of Madison.

Meetings are open to any interested members. We are a grassroots group of students and other residents who feel strongly about an inclusive, equitable environment. In our meetings, we encourage attendees who feel similarly about developments, licenses, or cut issues to disagree with each other. Likewise, we hope those who differ on shared projects or goals do not feel they are outside of things.
